Aesthetically correct?
OK, this is less a request for con crit than aesthetic opinion, but this place is pretty dead, so I thought I'd ask here.

This drabble I did won a challenge. Usually when I have a fic that places in a challenge I stick the "winner" banner on it, but I think it might take away from the impact of this one. Whaddaya think? Here it is with the banner at the bottom. Should I take it out? Move it?

Title: This Broken City Sky
Author: crossbow1
Rating: PG
Beta: murder_scene
Notes: Written for the mcr_100 Uniform challenge (first place winner).

Working in a bookstore, you have to look at each individual book before you shelve it; there's no uniformity. Ecstasy : Three Tales of Chemical Romance was one that Mikey might have read anyway, had it come to his attention, but if he hadn't been shelving trade paperbacks in Fiction, he wouldn't have seen it. The title had caught his eye. His first thought was, "Chemical Romance" - that would be a great name for a band! I should tell Gerard. If only his brother hadn't been so close to the world trade center during the attack.

Having both images in one post seems like a bit too much, but you could just mention that it won first place in the author's note. I don't know if you want to do it that way, but the suggestion's there for you to take.

I'm inclined to agree. It's already in the author notes, actually.

The reason I always post the banners is that I feel like since someone went to the trouble to MAKE them, I should use them, but now that I think about it, she probably wouldn't mind if I didn't.
